National Simultaneous Story Time
|
National Simultaneous Story time is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Now in its 17th year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy.
Every year a picture book, written by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. The staff and students from K-2 have enjoyed reading the hilarious book 'The Cow Tripped Over the Moon'. The theme of the book is perseverance and friendship. Students have been involved in rich discussions, artwork and writing activities related to the book. On Wednesday the 24th May at 10.30am in the school hall, the K-2 teachers will be performing a 'Readers Theatre' based on the book. Students enjoy watching their teachers perform on stage and parents are also welcome to attend the performance. Please see the Library blog for photos of this event. |
